On the Job Math is a site where students post illustrated word problems. The students read a story together and then take a survey in the classroom about what they may want to be when they grow up. After taking this survey, the teacher will create a graph of their choices so that students can think up word problems using the data displayed in the graph. Finally, students will write and illustrate their own word problems based on the occupation they have chosen. The children may use a paint program (KidPix or Paint) to create their illustrations or draw them by hand. The students' word problems will be posted on the website for other classes to solve and enjoy.
